The Aragonese Castle in Piazza Armerina stands on the southern slope of the ‘Colle Mira’.
The birth of the castle dates between 1932 and 1936 and was commissioned by the King of Sicily Martino I the Younger on behalf of Niccolò Branciforti, lord of Mazzarino and count of Garsiliato.
The fortress has an imposing rectangular structure with four quadrangular towers arranged at the top, connected by bastion walls.
Brought back to life by the current owners, it has hosted various local and national events such as the 2019 Mad Fest and the 2019 FAI Autumn Days.
