Palazzo Alliata di Villafranca is an ancient noble palace in Palermo, located in the heart of the historic center, in the Palazzo Reale district.
The monumental complex occupies the entire block between the Cassaro and the rear via dell’Università, constituting the fourth side of the spectacular Piazza Bologni.
The Palace houses has an art collection of considerable historical and artistic value, such as the famous Crucifixion by Antoon Van Dyck, the two large canvases by Matthias Stom: “The stoning of Santo Stefano” and “The tribute of the coin”, and two works by Pietro d’Asaro: “The Shipwreck or Fishing Scene” and “The Orpheus”, and “The Annunziata” by Pietro Novelli and the family portraits exhibited in the Salone dei Musici.
